This comes out of a recent class discussion on 1 Peter, chapter 2. The chapter addresses our responsibilities to authority. It also addresses living as free men. We have all been blessed to live in this country and owe a debt of gratitude to our founding fathers. However, our highest loyalty is the Lord and His Word. Join us for a lively discussion. |

Back to School - Autlan |
Throughout the summer, several Christian
bands will be coming to the Conejo Valley.
Be sure to keep an eye out for details as they
become available. |
The annual “Back-to-School” program for school children
in Autlán begins this month. Our missionary with Tecate
Missions, Sondra Pepper, heads up this program. The
purpose is to give poor children in Autlán the opportunity
to attend school. This money is used for uniforms, books
and tuition. In 2007, more than 150 children signed up
for help. You can help with all or part of the needed
tuition: Kindergarten has gone up to $65, elementary is
$75, Junior High is $85, High School is $150 and
University is $210. You may send a few dollars each
month or the full amount, but make sure you put BTS
465.1 in the lower left hand corner of your check. Make
your check
payable to Tecate
and drop it in the
offering. We will
forward them all
together to
Tecate. Your
help will be so
appreciated.

| Bethany Missions - Autlan 09 |
Bethany Church is sending a short-term mission team to
Autlán, Mexico July 19-26. Please pray for the health and
safety of the 21 member team and for the ministry they do
among the people of Autlán. They will be leading Vacation
Bible School, making necessary repairs/upkeep at the
Regional Training Center and distributing much needed
staples to families at the migrant workers’ camp. Team
members are Glen Allen, Deeann & Matthew De La Rosa,
Glenn & Riley Fenderson, Danise Foster, Ben, Jennifer,
Lois & Tom Gallardo, Anne, Jackson, Jamison, Jim &
Jonathan Judge, David Kelley, Pippa Phillips, Alma Speaks,
Harrison, Kristen & McKensey Wise. |

| In both July and August, we will use puppets, skits, games, crafts, snacks, and
lessons to help kid’s learn about filtering.’ That is ‘filtering’ what we expose
ourselves to, like a swamp filters and slows the water during “It’s a Swamp Thing”.
Then they will experience God’s creation as they explore the beauty and wonders
of beaches and oceans. |
