Participants in the 8th annual Bethany Golf Tournament enjoyed five or six hours of beautiful weather on Saturday, May 3, creating great memories of fun and fellowship.
The 23 men / 1 woman tournament was played with “Best Ball” rules. That means that each member of the team placed his ball wherever the team’s best shot landed. Each team also had to use four drives from each player. With six teams of four and players ranging from beginner to avid golfers, the camaraderie ran high as teams took encouragement in their united efforts.
The winning team consisted of Mike Petrash, Ed Petrash, Brian Borg, and Doug with a score of 4 under par. Second place went to John Tolle, Steve Starkweather, George Clock, and Keith Wade. The longest drive went to Jeff Miller and the closest to pin went to Dave Castle on the second hole and Brian Borg on the 16th hole.
The tournament was held at the Los Robles Golf Course and included lunch at the clubhouse. Several participants are hoping this will become a semi-annual event. John Tolle, an avid golfer, was the tournament organizer.
